Go along the Podluží bike trail from the zoo in Hodonín. You can expect a flat landscape with a lot of ponds where dozens of bird and mammal species have made their homes, such as the Eurasian beaver. Take the route which leads directly among the ponds. There are really few paths in the Czech Republic which lead almost along the water’s surface, but here you can enjoy plenty! You will come to the ponds in Mutěnice (and your bird observation point) from the right side. Do you have binoculars at hand? Now is the time to use them! Sit down and enjoy the great bird performance accompanied by sound.
Have you enjoyed the natural concert to the max? Start pedalling again and head towards Dubňany. Quench your thirst in the local Dubňák Brewery and continue along the Mutěnka bike trail to the Vyšicko lookout tower. The locals call it Tring because a triangulation tower stood on this site in the past. The spacious lookout tower will reward you with a view of the picturesque surroundings of the wine-growing village of Mutěnice, the White Carpathians, Chřiby with the Buchlov Castle, Pálava and the Babí Lom quarry near Strážovice.
From Vyšicko follow the green trail to Mutěnice. The first houses are part of the so-called Mutěnské Búdy. There are almost six hundred cellars in these unique alleys. Have a glass of wine in the oldest ones, painted with love, as well as in the modern ones, where you can find accommodation and sampling spaces. No need to hurry, just enjoy the day.
