The Račice chateau in Empire style at the foot of the Drahanská Vrchovina (Drahanská Highlands) will serve as the beginning of our journey. When it is open, it offers not only accommodation but also nice views. Follow the red tourist marker to the signpost called Pod Černovem, from where the Rakovecké Údolí (Rakovec Valley) nature trail will guide you through the valley. You will see bunches of snowflakes (in spring), rock gardens on conglomerate rock abundant with colours, a spring called Pavlína with refreshing water, and a rock called Beran (Ram).
The blue tourist marker will lead you from the Rakovecké Údolí signpost to Ruprechtov. This charming little village, which is worth your attention, boasts something unique in Europe. The local wind mill of the Dutch type is provided with a unique Halladay turbine and it has justly been proposed for recognition in the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can visit the mill from October to April and you can even spend your holiday in it from May to September. So what do you think? Do you find spending a night in a mill an intriguing prospect?
