Velehrad–Bučovice
If this route catches your eye, follow the Cyril and Methodius Route along the Czech Tourist Club markings: Velehrad – Buchlov – Bukovany – Lovčice – Bučovice – Lutršték, passing through the Chřiby and Ždánický les nature parks.
From Velehrad, the trail climbs along the red trail to Buchlov Castle and continues to the Pod Kazatelnou junction, then follows the green marker to the important pilgrimage site of St. Clement’s hillfort. Rejoining the red trail, you reach Bohuslavice u Kyjova and Bukovany. From the Vlčí jáma junction, turn onto the blue trail to Lovčice, climb back into the forest, rejoin the red trail, and descend into Bučovice.
Bučovice–Slavkov–Tuřany
From Bučovice, the Way of St. James continues along the green trail through Letonice and the pilgrimage site of Lutršték (where the Cyril and Methodius Route branches off) to Slavkov (Austerlitz), 17 kilometres away. From there, still following green markers, you head to Křenovice and Hostěrádky, reaching the remarkable Peace Memorial. From the memorial, the route continues to the parking area, then through woodland to Kobylnice, turns left after 300 metres toward the playground, and follows a country road to Dvorská and on to Tuřany in Brno.
Tuřany – Holásky – Brno / Olympia (confluence of the Svitava and Svratka)
In Tuřany, the route follows Myslivecká Street to the important Marian pilgrimage church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary. Nearby, it turns into Rolencova Street and follows cycle route 5005 to Holásky. You’ll pass the Holásecká Lakes nature reserve and reach the confluence of the Svratka and Svitava rivers near Olympia Shopping Centre, where the route joins paths coming from Opava and Olomouc. After a kilometre along the river, you arrive at the signpost by the Modřice Bridge, with the option to continue south toward Rajhrad, Mikulov, Austria — and Santiago…

The Brno–Třebíč route starts in the heart of Brno at the Church of St. James. Collect your first stamp from the pilgrim box at the entrance or from the parish office opposite. The 88-kilometre journey leads through natural landscapes and historic towns.
The Brno–Mikulov route begins in the very heart of Brno at the Church of St. James, the central hub of the Ways of St. James in South Moravia. Mass is celebrated here daily, and guided tours are available during the season. Beneath the church, you can visit Europe’s second-largest ossuary (tours are in high demand, so booking in advance is recommended). Collect your first stamp from the pilgrim box at the church entrance - or purchase your credencial at the parish office across the street.
