Boskovice boasts an original synagogue, and you can enjoy its majesty too. The spacious temple in the Neo-Gothic style was built in the year of our Lord 1639. Inside, you will be captivated at first sight by the perfectly detailed painting - ornaments, plants, and Hebrew liturgical texts. Polish artist-emigrants who settled here created masterful frescoes for the entire century.
During the Second World War, the synagogue was degraded to a warehouse for property confiscated from the Jewish community of Boskovice. In 1994, it finally returned to the hands of the Jewish Community in Brno. The reconstruction took place from 1989 to 2001, and since then, there has been a permanent exhibition on the regional history and monuments of the Jewish community. The main hall of the synagogue hosts seasonal art exhibitions, concerts, and theatrical performances through the Boskovice Region Museum.
