Windmill in Kuželov

It looks like the Netherlands but it is... good old Moravia! The area of the wind mill in Kuželov will be fun.

more information add to favourites

The brick mill of the Dutch type has a revolving roof. (By the way, you won't find many functional Dutch mills any more.). It stands on the ridge of the White Carpathians above Kuželov. After a hundred years of operation, they stopped using it in 1942. It was taken care of, reconstructed, renovated and given the former splendour and fame by the Technical Museum in Brno. It is a beautiful building again, capable of operation. No matter it is only for museum purposes now.

In the farm buildings nearby you will visit an exhibition of housing, life and farming in the Horňácko Region at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. The exhibition also features milling tools.

Every July you will experience the amazing Horňácko Folk Festival here, which is held in Velká nad Veličkou. Do you fancy dulcimer music, traditional folk costumes, full-blooded folklore? With the other spectators, move from the fair to the mill, which provides an authentic environment for pure folklore of the Horňácko Region.
