The Sportpark in Boskovice is a paradise for mixed-terrain cycling. Ten kilometres of trails at three difficulty levels, a pump track and great facilities. Available at any time and free of charge. All of that less than three kilometres from the town centre, for kids as well as for adults.
The Singltrek Centrum is the starting point. It is a building from which the trails for various circuits originate, and you can easily get back thanks to two backbone routes. You can find showers and refreshments here, but also a bike rental where you can borrow the right bike for a small sum of money. Cycling the trail on a road bike or a city bike is not recommended. Use the local pump track! You will learn to use “pumping” (moving up and down) to generate speed instead of pedalling. Balance, bike control, jumps – training is safe and effective on terrain bumps.
There is a large parking lot near the Sportpark. If you have chosen to travel by train, go from the train station around the former power plant and you will be led to the Sportpark by the Doubravský Okruh (Oakwood Circuit) nature trail.
The town of Boskovice offers much more – the heritage of the Jewish Quarter, a castle and a chateau. And there is a Wild West Town with Winnetou and Old Shatterhand right opposite the single trails.
We have found other places you might like. Have a look at them.
