In one of the sallets of the Lednice-Valtice Area, in an empire chateau Pohansko that was built in 1810 - 1812 according to the plans of Joseph Hardtmuth, the town museum and gallery Břeclav realised an exposition documenting the results of extensive archeologic research of Slawonic settlement, running out here since 1957.
The largest precocious medieval fortification on the territory of our state and one of the biggest in middle Europe was founded in Pohansko in the 9th century. The first place among the discoveries made here holds the magnate courtyard enclosed by wooden picket. In the courtyard, there was the magnate seat built on stone socle, stone church decorated with fresco, burying place with silver and gold jewellery and agricultural facilities.
