Miroslav Chateau

Legend has it that around the year 912 a water fortress grew on a small rock in the middle of the marshes under the supervision of Princess Miroslava. Today it has the form of a castle and the name Miroslav.

The most valuable preserved monument of the chateau is the vault in the former courtroom and on the lower floor of the chateau. This is where the feudal justice of the lords used to pass judgements. But you can also visit the period furnished jailer's apartment with the adjoining prison and admire the unique collection of old coloured bricks.

And one more pearl - because the castle was built on a rock, the whole building has a very irregular shape. The vaulted ceilings in the halls, reminiscent of origami masterpieces, can also be a lure to visit the castle in person.

Check the opening hours before you go to the castle. Because it's usually closed on Mondays.
