DAY 1

The first day begins in Brno, the natural capital of South Moravia. You will explore the city with its underground passages and the Old Town Hall Tower

Evening program alternatives: Explore Brno's bars and breweries.

DAY 2

Upon departing from Brno to Klentnice, embark on a hiking excursion to the Pálava Hills, ascending Stolová Mountain and Sirotčí Hrádek, a short trek that isn't overly demanding (approximately 2 hours).

Following this, transfer to the nearby town of Mikulov, where exploration awaits in the picturesque town center nestled at the foot of Pálava (2 hours). 

For a late lunch, consider the following options: Vinařství Šílová, Bistro Drogérka, Korek, Pedro’s Streetfood Bistro (2 hours).

Transfer to Znojmo (55 km, 1 hour).

Accommodation recommendations: Hotel Premium, Jukebox Hotel, TGM Hotel Residence, Hotel Happy Star, Hotel Mariel.

Evening suggestion:
indulge in wine tasting and dinner accompanied by the melodic tones of a cimbalom (traditional musical instrument) (3 hours).

DAY 3

The Podyjí National Park is suitable for both hiking and cycling. Therefore, two alternatives are available:

A) Cycling excursion from Čížov to Šobes vineyards, ending in Hnanice/Havraníky: (approximately 3-4 hours).

B) Walking alternative for non-cyclists - the exploration of the underground of Znojmo (classic or adrenaline route, depending on the chosen route, 75-150 minutes).

Lunch recommendations: Vinařství Thaya, Vineyard Hnanice, Hotel Happy Star (90 minutes).

Afternoon city tour of Znojmo excluding the underground - either traditionally with a guide or experientially with "Znojmáček" (approximately 90-120 minutes).

Departure to Brno, end of the program.

From Brno to the South

The Brno–Mikulov route begins in the very heart of Brno at the Church of St. James, the central hub of the Ways of St. James in South Moravia. Mass is celebrated here daily, and guided tours are available during the season. Beneath the church, you can visit Europe’s second-largest ossuary (tours are in high demand, so booking in advance is recommended). Collect your first stamp from the pilgrim box at the church entrance - or purchase your credencial at the parish office across the street.

To Brno from the East

The route from Velehrad to Brno follows the Cyril and Methodius Route almost as far as Slavkov u Brna. Like all Ways of St. James, it is marked one-way toward Santiago de Compostela. It measures 93 kilometres, during which you’ll collect plenty of stamps from shell-marked pilgrim points.
