Undemanding terrain and pure nature of floodplain forests as well as the fascinating history of Great Moravia await you on this trip to Pohansko. Start your journey at the train stop in Lanžhot and head for the forest. Near the Soudnice River, you will join the Podluží bike trail for a short time, which will take you to the Pohansko Nature Trail. You will pass through the breathtaking Soutok Enclosure. Deer, fallow deer, roe deer…there are many different kinds of wild animals living here. Not only the fauna but also the flora is worth seeing, mainly rare woody plants. Then you will come to the Ancient Slavic Pohansko Hillfort with a hunting lodge in Empire style, an exhibition and an archaeological open-air museum. Password? No-need-to-hurry.
Follow the nature trail towards Břeclav. You will smoothly join the green tourist trail near the parking lot at the beginning of the Soutok Enclosure and it will lead you to the train station in Břeclav.
Finish the trip a few steps further, in the friendly Frankies Brewery, where the two friends who own it will pour you a beer brewed with pure craftsmanship and true love for the amber-coloured drink. They deserved being recognized as one of the best in the Gourmet South Moravia 2019 show!
You can also go from Břeclav to the castle by bike or on inline skates along some two kilometres of asphalt forest road. Anyway, let your car have a rest, it is time to get moving!
