Take a look around the vineyards from an unusual lookout tower without a single stair. You can get to the top of it even with a pram!
You can find the Walk above the Vineyards on the Kobylí Hill, which is called Homole (The Cone) by the locals. The hill covered with vineyards (and the highest point of the surrounding area) lies at an altitude of 334 metres above sea level. It provides a view in all directions. It was designed by a man who was born in this area and his colleague from the Keeo4design studio in Brno.
The lookout tower near Kobylí is really unusual. The viewing platform has the shape of a circular ramp and if you flew over it by plane, it might remind you of a snail’s shell. It does not stick out towards the sky like a lighthouse, rather it sensitively rises above the surrounding vineyards. The shape of the unfinished circle symbolizes the life cycle of nature. The extraordinary information system placed on the floor represents a spatio-temporal line. The signs will help you to get oriented in the area.
The stairs are replaced by an inclined plane, which is why the Walk above the Vineyards in Kobylí is one of the few lookout towers in the Czech Republic from which the view can also be enjoyed by elderly and disabled people, parents with a pram and individuals with a phobia of heights.
You will be led to the lookout tower by the Kobylí nature trails. If you collect tourist stamps or tourist postmarks, you can get them in the Museum of the Village of Kobylí.
