A permanent festival on the domestic folklore scene. It maps almost exclusively the area of the southern and northern Kyjov region, together with the historically associated Ždánicko.
Národopisný festival kyjovského Dolňácka v Miloticích, as its proper name sounds, gives an opportunity to excel dance, instrumental and vocal performers of folk songs and dances of all ages. In addition to performances by ensembles, choirs and musicians, the festival is interspersed with commemorative and educational programmes, playful and creative workshops in the folk spirit, trying to draw more individuals into the ranks of folk culture admirers. Emphasis is placed on the correct use of folklore dress - costume, sensitive handling of folk song and authenticity of local folk dance elements.
The festival has grown over time from a single Sunday afternoon to a three-day marathon. At first it "filled" three consecutive years in the four-year cycle of the festival Slovácký rok in Kyjov. In recent years, the festival in Milotice has been held regularly every two years at the beginning of August from Friday to Sunday. This year will be exceptional in its scope. In order to be able to realize everything, we have extended the festival days by Thursday. The date is therefore set for 1 - 4 August 2024.
