LVHF has been held every year since 2016 in the Lednice-Valtice campus in the South Moravian Region at the turn of September and October. Eight concerts are held over fourteen days in historic buildings built by the Liechtenstein family. This family has deep roots in the area, which gives the festival a special connection to history. In the past, the nobility also invited musical productions from Brno and Vienna to their estate in autumn, when the hunting season is at its peak.

The first edition in 2016, which was held in an intimate format with only two concerts, had Václav Hudeček as the main star. With its ninth edition in 2024, scheduled for late September/early October, the festival continues its commitment to bringing outstanding music and artistic experiences as well as quality educational programming for children.

Accompanying events

In addition to the concerts themselves, the festival also organises side events. One of these is the organisation of lectures, which are linked to the themes of the concerts and the current dramaturgy and are led by experts in the field. These lectures provide a deeper insight into the connection between music and cultural history.

The festival also hosts educational concerts for local schools where students can learn about different instruments, styles and composers.

The accompanying exhibitions of paintings or photographs related to the theme and art workshops for the youngest children are no exception, linking art and music in a fun way. All this under the guidance of quality artists and musical ensembles.

Lednicko-valtický hudební festival is a unique opportunity for music and history lovers to discover the beauty of the region and immerse themselves in the world of music in beautiful historical places.

Since October 2022, the festival is also a proud member of the Czech Association of Festivals (CAF).
