The gates of the royal city of Kyjov will open to the fans of traditions, folk music, songs and dance, and mainly those of excellent entertainment for the twenty-first time in this August.
After four years, the centre of the region of Kyjov Dolňácko will become a Mecca for folklorists from Bohemia, Moravia and foreign countries again. Thousands of participants will perform in more than thirty performances on four Festival days.
The parade with three thousand people in traditional folk costumes from all villages of the region will brighten up the city square with vivid colours of their richly embellished folk garments. The folk fair will demonstrate the skill of Bohemian and Moravian craftsmen and the summer air will smell of traditional delicacies, wine and homemade spirits.
Exuberant singing accompanied by magic tunes of violins and cimbaloms will be interrupted only by the sound of church bells inviting to the festive Sunday mass, and by the hoof beat under saddles of riders from the Ride of the Kings, riding at a gallop from Skoronice to the majestic town hall of Kyjov.
