Travel guide

Are you planning to visit South Moravia? We can advise you on the easiest way to get here and travel around. Brno is the metropolis of this region and, thanks to its strategic location, it is the most important transport hub.

let's go

Coming to Brno by plane

There is a regular direct flight to Brno from London Stansted Airport. From the Prague Airport you can reach Brno by car on the motorway in 2.5 hours. It is an hour and a half from Bratislava and less than two hours from Vienna, which offers the most direct flights from anywhere in the world. If you want to travel by train or bus from these airports to Brno, take České Dráhy, Regiojet, Leo Express, Flixbus or Gepard.

Getting around the region

By train/bus

South Moravia offers a very abundant network of rail and bus lines. You can find specific connections at idos.cz (the app for Android and iOS is free of charge). Train tickets can be bought through the České Dráhy online reservation system. Regional bus tickets are available from the driver when boarding the bus. Have some cash with you, because card payment is not always possible on buses.

Carsharing

Are you planning a tour through South Moravia lasting several days? Rent a car and enjoy greater independence. Most well-known car rental companies operate in Brno and carsharing is also popular. Check out car4way.cz or autonapul.cz.

Parking in Brno

Parking is different than in nearby towns. No matter whether you are coming with your own car or a rented one, you have to deal with three colour-coded parking zones. Or park in a parking garage or public parking.
