If you have just a pinch of adventure in your blood, the local boat rental can make your holiday and cruising dreams come true. The Sudoměřice tilter is an ingenious rope hoist dating back to 1939 and now a technical monument. It must have been fascinating to see the rising cradle with a track, a hopper, and a full wagon. It all happened in a short while, the cargo was usually lignite coal from a nearby mine and the loaded ships carried it to the power plant in Otrokovice.
The Baťa Canal navigation channel gets very lively in the season. There is a wonderful rental shop at the tilter – a cabin boat, a motorboat or a canoe will provide you with a real nautical experience. Arrange it with the rental staff and put up a tent there. If you have a fishing license, a rod in the water is allowed. We bet that the tilter in Sudoměřice will win you over, even though you might be rather a castle and chateau person.
