Have you explored Znojmo from the west to the east? Go down to the Dyje River and go on discovering. The protected fire salamander, a local inhabitant, has become the guide on this nature trail leading under high trees. The salamander will invite kids to pet animals made of wood and they can play a forest memory game. The kids can also enjoy a big mushroom recognition game and telling bird eggs apart. You can listen to how individual birds sing thanks to the app Les Poznání (The Forest of Knowledge).
The route of the nature trail S Mlokem Hugem (With Hugo the Salamander) leads from the Stará Vodárna (Old Waterworks) along the bubbling Gránický Stream to Spálený Mlýn (Burnt-Down Mill) and back. The route is popular for its undemanding character, sufficient seating on benches and terrain suitable for prams and children’s bikes. The route may be extended by two kilometres from Spálený Mlýn. The forest path going along the stream is marked by a wooden signpost with the name “Karkulka” (Little Red Riding Hood) on it. It will lead you to the Pivec’ Stream and to the wooden house of Little Red Riding Hood’s grandma exactly at the same moment when Little Red Riding Hood has brought a basket of goodies and the disguised wolf is already lying in bed. Kids can look into the house through the windows or through a glass door. Fortunately, a hunter (one also made from wood) is approaching nearby.
