Start your trip near the municipal swimming pool in Melkusova Street. Go over the bridge across the Dyje River. Turn right after the bridge and go upstream along an asphalt kickbike trail. You will enjoy a relaxing journey through the gardening plots in the deep valley of the Dyje River. Make a stop at the railway bridge from Znojmo to Šatov and savour the fantastic view of historic Znojmo.
Continue upstream under Kraví Hora (Cow Hill). The route will take you to the dam of the Znojmo Reservoir. Go over the bridge to the other shore. Time for a break? Visit the Museum of Motorism or see the “Giant’s Head”, a rock formation said to resemble the head of a giant.
Start your journey back by going up a gentle hill on the left bank of the Dyje River. Enjoy the view of the historic settlement and after about one kilometre turn onto the paved path going along the Dyje River. It will guide you to the water mill near the Louka Monastery.
What end of a trip in a wine region would it be without some wine tasting! Sample some Znovín Znojmo and your kids can have fun at a playground nearby. The small shop with farming products called U Tří Dubů is worth a visit, too. You can buy there fine jams and apple juices made exclusively from Moravian ingredients.
