The dismantling of the Iron Curtain began in the first half of 1990. As a result of an agreement between the former Podyjí Protected Landscape Area administration, the Ministry of the Interior, and the former Border Guard Brigade in Znojmo, a section of the curtain was preserved in Čížov as a memorial.
