Entering a new decade of its history, the festival continues to evolve with the times, offering visitors new ideas, fresh perspectives, and unforgettable experiences year after year.
At the same time, the festival pays tribute to the cultural heritage of our ancestors and fulfils the mission of UNESCO’s Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The 81st Strážnice International Folklore Festival and the 44th Children’s Strážnice Festival place dance at the heart of this year’s programme. Dance is one of the most important expressions of folk culture, a way of sharing emotions, and a reflection of both individual and collective identity. Strážnice is a place where folk music and dance can be not only watched, but truly experienced.
Simply stop to listen to one of the musical performances in the castle park, or join an informal gathering of musicians and dancers, and you will discover that folklore is a universal language of communication that transcends both linguistic and generational boundaries.
